New shop for diff rebuild: Ring and Pinion of Waterford

I wanted to share my experience getting one of our LSDs worked on by a local shop, Ring and Pinion of Waterford in Waterford Township, MI. I brought them a unit pulled from a car a very long time ago, and they were able to check out the unit. They verified the gear mesh and checked the breakaway on the LSD unit itself. The correctly identified a bad pinion bearing, and after I provided a rebuild kit from Ireland Engineering, they were able to replace all the bearings on the unit and get it back to operational condition for a very reasonable cost.

Apparently they are also available for shipped work, as when I was picking up, they showed me a MG unit they were working on for someone in Colorado. I would strongly recommend talking with them prior to sending anything, though.
