Hey guys,

New to forums and just purchased a 72CS and a 72CSi. Have an e12 1977 633CSi. The CS needs some love but the CSi (which I suspect is a CS with a 633 engine in it as apart from the fuel injection looks like my 633 block) runs great and just completed 1200 miles at upwards of 80MPh.

Have not yet worked out if I can post pics but will do when I can. Any one know of a VIN Decoder? When I use the Decoder from Bimmerforums I get the following;

1. A 1990's 3 Series Convertable for the CS.
2. A 750l for the CSi

Any ideas?

VIN numbers

Go to BMWcsregistry.org and click on "coupe info," that'll take you to the right stuff. BMW Tradition and many DMV's do not have the older 7 digit VIN's in their data base.

Btw, the 633CSI is an E24 (even if it´s the series I with is based on the E12...) and that has an L-Jetronic.

So if the FI on your CS looks different, it´s the D-Jet which would make it the original FI for a E9 3.0CSI

Thus it might even be the orginal engine.

And the engine block would look exactly the same since it actually is (more or less...)
