After waiting 30 years, seriously, I now have the new tool box that BMW is offering. Since it did not come with the screws to hang it and what we have is not original I am interested in hearing what others have done???

I replaced my existing tool box (in pieces) and so had the screws.
I did use some large washers inside to put less pressure on the box.

The original pan head screws were clear zinc plated 4,2 x 19 sheet metal screws.

Yes BMW Classic (through the dealers) have them. I hope they still have some, not sure how many were made and so many of us wanted them. Cost is below 400.00. I have heard many prices, I found if the dealer is large and they have volume in their parts sales (or seems like that might be the case) it could be a lower price.

Thanks for that info on the tool box through Penske. Do you purchase many things from Penske and find it cheaper? Service good?

Penske's prices are reasonably good - usually give a 10% discount for 'cca members. some dealers give 20% discounts to 'cca members. but having the price from Penske (on-line) allows you to have a good starting point. i think they are good to work with - especially Lisa.
