Has anyone repainted a set of BBS wheels like these? The paint is a little faded so i'm thinking just prep and respray.

My Car is Chamonix...so what color to paint HUMMM ??

I had a set just like these a long time ago. Beautiful wheel. If I recall correctly, the centers on them were powder coated (Black). Color, of course , is up to you; however, the centers on mine matched the interior and I thought that looked pretty good. Since your car is Chamonix you could have just about any interior color, so I would match it up with any color combo except red, that may be too over the top.

I've got 14" BBS's on my car, I cleaned the centers well with lacquer thinner and spayed them with rattle cans. Lips got polished. Worked like a charm, no chipping or flaking in over two years. Cost -- about $15.

Here is a 15x8 on the rear of my 79 633 where I repainted original gold centers black. Like Tony, I used some spray can paint.

While I think the offsets would be ok for an E9, these wheels have very thick hubs and would require longer wheel studs to hold them on.
If anyone is interested in these wheels, they can buy the whole car!

I replace all of my studs when I did the rear disk conversion; bought them from Baviarn Auto. Just give them the longer length you need and they should have them. The dealer probably has them too.

Great looking wheels! I shouldn't recommend a color but I recently saw a similar set on a 2002tii that were painted metal-fleck lizard green. The car was the same color. The combination, albeit juvenile, was striking!

Do you think Chamonix and lizard green...? maybe not. Gold or Chamonix would be the mature thing to do. 8)

Barry,

Are you still in the house on the hill? I should stop by sometime and talk cars...

same place.long driveway on the side.white house, fire place in front..
I think of all the people on this Board...and we have some dooies. we live at the most 1 mile from each other.. stop by any time ...well not anytime...I go to bed early.

Barry congrat on aquiring those wheels I'd love a set myself. My choice of color would be gold as they are now I think they'll look cool against white.
