Drove my dads Bavaria while in high school. My favorite ride ever. Just acquired a 1972 Bavaria after years of an off/on pursuit. So appreciate this website. No automotive restoration talent but tons of respect for those with it.
ok. So don’t kick me off the site please ....but the car is at the shop getting fixed.....and having wandered this site for a bit now, most of you recognize it as the car that was down in the Bay Area for the past year. And yes I over paid -not saying, but all your stocks went up - but after so many shallow dates I finally got one to come home. That I was, and eventually will again drive.
A little tidbit of advice, from the "ask me why I know repository..", take a lot of documentary pics of the the car as you bought it...before pictures, if you will. Inside, outside, trunk, engine bay, and under...You wont regret it.
I appreciate your advise and will do so. I suspect the car has hidden dangers and noticed there has been an application of coating over the common areas of rust. Did not appreciate that before I bough it. Had it looked at locally in Redwood City but they had no major concerns. My expectations probably fit the Bavaria’s.
