Nice E3 for sale

It's been for sale for a little while now. Auto, big bumper 74', color seems off to me, could be wrong but...... pricey for a big bumper.....and dealer/middle man mark up... I think they will have a tough time selling at what they are asking...

I have seen this Bav. It's pretty clean,I didn't inspect it thoroughly. It has plastic outside mirrors and a raked black antenna on the rear fender along with those painted wheels! It would look a lot better if it had '74 spoked wheels. If anyone is interested it's only a mile past my place of employment and I would be happy to do a more thorough inspection. It's not a local car (Long Island, I think the salesman said) but if it was just a little darker color I don't think an Amish family would object to riding in it.

funny, you don't look amish...

I probably shouldn't make fun of other's religous beliefs... but that's pretty funny. Not sure they would care for those extravagent rubber buggy bumpers though...

I agree; double it's value probably. I sure hope someone got that one in Oregon. It looked almost completely restored -- just had a weber problem...
Wanted 4500?

This may be a case where the 8000 spent in paint is directly proportional to a price reduction to. I didn't realize a color could totally ruin a cars looks. Just my narrow minded opinion. It reminds me a fifty Chevy color I had on a sedan delivery. The bumpers you can just turn into a coffee table but the color I can't live with. Without actually seeing the car I am going to have to lo ball this.
Oh, I always do that, you say!?

I am guessing the branded title is what is turning off most people. I know it is turning me off...

I assume the car was in an accident and totalled by the insurance company resulting in a "reconstructed" title in Oregon.

While it likely happened when the car was devalued enough to make fixing the damage not worth the money, it still have a reselling stigma attached to it because you never know how bad it was.

Perception only? Possibly, but I just know for experience that branded titles tend to be worth less.

^^this is probably what happened^^ Branded means there's a story. The story on a "reconstructed title" means the car was salvaged after an accident with repairs exceeding 50% of the value of the car and or the car suffered from frame damage due to the accident. The owner was paid for the whole agreed upon value of the car. The Insurance company then sold the car if the owner didn't take the option to buy it back. The reconstructed part means that the car was repaired; but the title still reflects the prior accident.

What is unfortunate is that most of our cars have had some sort of accident damage whether small or large. In the case of this Bavaria it could have been a minor fender bender, with repairs not exceeding $4,000.00. Well $4,000.00 will repair/paint a fender, and maybe some suspension components. $4,000.00 exceeds the book value of a Bavaria which would render it "totaled".

My Coupe holds a salvage title for this reason. Previous owners wife got into a light drivers side corner hit with an oncoming car. Needed a headlight bucket, fender and paint. Happened back in 1991 when the car was worth $9k, so it was declared a total loss, and then fixed.

Same accident today wouldn't brand the title.

It's automotive herpes. I'll have to explain it when I sell it in the future, and given that I bought it at a discount for the branded title, I'll be selling it for under market value unless I fully restore it as a result.

Ok. I understand -- didn't get the slang "branded". Salvage title is what we call it around here.
I don't care about the salvage title. If this is still available and he got the webers working, I think I'm taking the plunge and flying up there.
