BMW's heritage is a great one....I have been reading on the prewar 328 lately and as a race car it was simple and effective.
I know other great makes have history dating back to years before their inception (ie. Porsche, Ferrari, etc....) But for my money the early prewar success of the 328 in racing is a great foundation for a rich racing history.
And the CSL is an important part of that -- makes our coupes pretty special IMHO.
