I see NMNA being used all the time on for-sale ads. Somehow my slang dictionary isn't working... what does NMNA mean?

acronym technically is an abbreviation that spells out a word. e. g.

SCUBA
LASER


Initialisms are like:

AFAIK

AMD

I frequently utter WTF, but I usually don’t use the acronym…

I say something similar to WTF... FFS.. exasperation.

Looks to me like the only difference is acronyms are pronounceable made up words, while initialisms are unpronounceable.

Unless they are French initialisms. The French can pronounce any random combination of letters simpley by making letters disappear, i.e. ignoring them, or changing the sound they make.

Why I could never learn or speak French.
