And she's in Houston! Drivers Source is one of those high end car storage places (lots in Houston) that also does service and such. Good operation - that's where I saw the black CSL with blue and red stripes (Can't remember number).

Is that a catalytic converter???

Although if you look at it from the flip side, it would probably give the Dakar 959 a run for its money....

Something's not right with that tool kit; seems like its reversed? Mine has the Allen wrenches on the left side...

Looks pretty original from the pictures, save for the suspension.

Underside looks clean too, but would want to see behind the rocker trim, shock tops and firewall if this car came out of Virginia.
 
Two piece means top and bottom clam shell. I have seen other 74s with the early box, maybe they were phased in during 74 model year? Or prior owner replaced the one piece box (no top) with the early box?
 
My VERY Late 1974 has the one piece type made out of a stronger material

This car is amost identical to my 1974 except mine is an Auto with a Sunroof...

They describe the car as having an electric exterior rear view mirror which is only offered on the later 1974s.

My VERY late 4335442 (10th from the last E9) sold in May of 1975 has the later style tool box that is one piece and made of a stronger plastic material.

The front seat backs swap is interesting... I would imagine it is hard to get into the back seat but relatively easy to get out with that configuration.

PS they are teasing you because the seat backs are swapped - the left one is on the right and vice versa. The knob to swing the seat back fwd should be outboard.
