I have a NOS exhaust sitting in my garage and was wondering how much it would be worth to people on here? Im asking before I post it to the for sale section just to see a ballpark figure. I have pictures and its not rusty at all it just has scratches from being moved from place to place over the years.

Includes muffler section, extra pipe section for wherever that goes and long huge cylinder muffler thing.

Ok, so I guess my original question was: What would you guys say the worth of this is? How much should I ask for?

Ok so 170 people have opened this and not one comment on what I should ask for this price wise. I need your help I don't want to ask way to much or way too little.

OK here goes..I bought a 'near NOS' complete exhaust not stainless for $400 AUS USD$350 a couple of years ago from a guy parting his car. I figured it was good value.
New stainless is probably 3x this from W&N - stand to be corrected and no idea on shipping .

Probably because no one has any real idea. You're just going to have to test the capitalist waters. Ebay might your vessel.

Alternately, the OEM exhaust that's available from BMW is still built by Eberspracher -- the same outfit that built yours -- albeit in the Czech Republic these days. It's still considered a good, solid system, so your NOS exhaust may or may not be more valuable to anyone. Who knows?

As a guide, here is the current pricing of an Eberspracher OEM system:

For what it's worth, I wouldn't pay new prices for your rig, as the inside of that one muffler has clearly begun deteriorating (rusting) inside. Many folks use a maximum 50% of new price as a guide when buying old/used parts, especially when condition is less than crystal clear.

For reference, our used part prices fall under a couple categories. The higher volume stuff that has much more competition is sold for whatever the market will bear, usually well under 50% of list. Parts that are not as common, or parts that are harder to find (interior trim, high pressure hoses, brackets, low production stuff, goes for around 50% of list all the time. Some parts are so hard to sell that we don't even bother, like used tires, and sorry to say, exhaust systems. I wouldn't think that a used factory exhaust would be worth anymore than $200, and that would be for a local pickup.

According to the BmwMobileTradition catalog and prices, the 3 muffler pieces you have retail for about $500 total so $250 seems reasonable for your parts. You've to understand these parts are still available through BMW at reasonable prices which include warranties and returns if need be and not rare and hard to find muffler items. Muffler innards do rust from the inside out even with supposedly never used units, especially in high humidity areas. If anyone were to offer $200 for them, grab the money and be happy that you were able to unload them.
