I have 2 electric fans (for the ventilation system) that have been cleaned, checked, oiled etc, then remounted in their black brackets with the 4 clips.
As I installed one, having taken the old one out for that cleaning operation, it made all sorts of strange noises, then stopped. As I pulled the lever to the left side and set it off again, it would start, make noises, then stop.

Is this a balancing issue? I see small clips on certain white fan blades. Factory balance weights? And why has the white fan got degree marks along the edge?

Bad bearings

The small metal clips around some of the blades are factory balance weights.
The cause of my problem is due to badly worn bearing or both bearings.

I have 3 other fans which are completely dead !

Anyone know if the US parts shops might have a NOS fan?

Bosch makes a replacement. Mesa here in the US sells them. And I see them on Ebay from time to time.

I've tried soaking the bearings too. Worked for a while.
