I have the original wheels for my car (70 2800cs). they were stripped and re-coated years ago but they have been in boxes ever since. I have a strong desire to put them on the car. The car has been rolling on old TRX's from my e24. But years ago while enduring a long term shop visit the hubcaps disappeared from the trunk. I keep checking eBay for replacements but sellers want "stupid money" for the few sets that come up. Someday I will come across a set for the right price/deal (unless I find an Alpina style wheel set prior). Now my question, has anyone come up with a nice alternative center cap for the e9 wheels? Any suggestions on something that fits that size center hole/space?

Why not buy them from BMW? They list for $64.43 minus the usual 10-20% discounts.
 
I thought the OP is looking for the original style hubcaps, since they disappeared at his last shop visit...?

I have a set of like new hubcaps for 35 bucks apiece. They came off my car when I put on Alpina replicas. They had been on the car for about 6 months. I bought them new from BMW.
