But I will give it a try here. I noticed that we have some sailors in the group and I am wondering if anyone has an extra (couple?) of old sails that are in reasonable condition that they want to part with. I have a shooting range at my ranch and would like to construct an awning. I can do the posts and turn-buckles but I can't think of a better material than a sail to sling between the posts for some sun protection. Really any size would do or if you have more than one that would be cool as well. Sorry, I just thought I would try. We could do a shipping plus donation or if there was some value, then a reasonable price? I have seen this done with success at other places and it's really "coupe related" since some forum members have visited the ranch and those who have not are welcome

If you are in Texas I would recommend calling some sailmakers in Houston and asking about the sails you want. I would ask for plain Dacron cruising type sails. They weigh a ton and shipping won't be cheap but you might get them for free. Good luck.
