Not exactly bed time reading but I have a reasonable copy with the odd grubby paw print  It goes on about the E3 4 door saloon as well as the coupe

Anyway I have the following sections:

11 - Engine
12 - Engine Electrical
13 - Fuel supply and adjustments
16 - Fuel tank and lines
17 - Radiator
18 - Exhaust
21 - Clutch
23 - Transmission manual
24 - Transmission Automatic (ZF - 3HP - 20)
25 - Gear shift mechanism
26 - Drive Shaft (In the UK that's prop shaft )
31 - Front axle
32 - Steering and wheel alignment
33 - Rear Axle
34 - Brakes
35 - Pedal assembly
36 - Wheels and tyres
41 - Body
51 - Body - interior equipment
52 - Seats
54 - Sliding roof
61- Chassis Electrical
62 - Instruments
63 - Lights
64 - Heating and air conditioning
64 - Radio and Accessories ( Including fitting a tow bar and seatbelts!)
Plus
Introduction to manual
BMW N 600 02.0 Tightning torques nad prestressing forces
BMW N 113.49.0 Tightening torques
Conversion and comparison table for statutory measurement units
BMW N 600.02.0 Bolts, Nuts (Identifications)
and various pages about supplements and amendments..

What I don't have
00 - Maintenance and General Hints (Probably need them!)
37 - Integrated suspension systems, which maybe about the old "Nivomat" Gas rear struts with integral springs as fitted to the E3
56 - Special bodies
71 - Equipment parts and accessories for Engine and chassis
72 - Equipment parts and accesories for body.
97 - Body cavity sealing and undercoating (The laughter of Nelson on the Simpsons comes to mind here!)
99 - Paintwork

Would love to know what's in the sections I don't have, especially 56, 71 and 72

97 and 99 are probably a little out of date these days

BTW the Haynes manual for BMW Saloons 2500, 2800, 3.0 & 3.3 Is pretty good as it is the older style manual. Although it doesn't cover the coupe it does in terms of the engine, fuel systems (carbs and injection), ignition, and all the running gear
I don't know if it is still in print But it's Haynes manual 348 and the ISBN is 0 85696 348 8

Edit/update: I think the old Nivomat rear shock spring combinations came back for the E28, well my now departed M535 had the Bilstien equivalents...

I've got sections 00, 71, and 72.

00- talks about conversion factors, bolt grades, diagram legends, that sort of thing.
71- trailer hitch
72- 3-point belt up front

I got all of my blue books from a shop that was cleaning house. I even have update sheets in some of them.
