Oil Leak

This can happen, the tensioner works with oil pressure. If the leak is coming from the big nut the hopefully it is only a new ring gasket for the nut (very hard to remove). There are other likely sources but few would be "bad" since they do not involve pressurize oil.

There is a complicated 3-way gasket configuration in this area were the upper, lower, and head all meet. This is one of the few places I will actually consider using form-a-gasket goo.

Are you able to pinpoint the location any closer?
