Some beauties, and some that show that restorations are never finished.

But I whish my car was in this condition...

Great to see those pics. What was your impression from the people there? Passionate craftsmen? Fast flippers? Family affair? Strictly business? Somewhere in between?

Not sure if I can pass such judgement after just 1 hour talk. They, nor I , actually handed over a set of car keys after a finacial transaction and having that sink in for a month...
Only then I'd be comfortable to share my experience.

I can say they are friendly & experienced. I Saw the 4 finished e9's for sale + 1 csl and a repainted fjord in their off-site workshop. All is well organized and it sure looks how I'd like my garage to look.

I did expect to see one that was perfect but that wasn't the case, but you must
know that I am fairly ocd on details.

They were particularly proud of the green one as they fully redid that but for instance the inner fender seem spotwelds were fully smoothed out with filler. Smooth look yes, but if I had the budget, I'd look further.

I am 100% sure however that they can do it to my taste, or your taste as well.
I just wouldn't know if their price would match my/your expectation.

I may find out in the future; I've asked them some things.

I continue to be impressed with what seems to be a very active classic BMW community in the Netherlands -- not just Oldenzaal but several other smaller specialist firms putting out quality work. Erik, is it something in the water?

They are getting better and better than many. Some cars definitely better than others. I am sure it has a lot to do with what they get vs how much they have to spend based on market value. Perhaps a nice way to put it is they are rebuilding very good to excellent cars but haven’t made it to concours level of detail or budget. My observation based on a limited viewpoint… not a criticism just a little more attention to detail is needed to get to the next level.

@dbower : Well, the Netherlands has a lot of people that were in the target market for bmw in the 60's and 70's. Bmw was, and is, just a very strong brand here.

They even had a silver CS that was sold originally just 20 miles away from me. With all service books and papers.

Being next door to Dass Mutterland also helps.

@rsporsche ; they had a quite nice silver 2002 tii for which the seller explained that they just bought the most expensive one available in NL and refreshed it. That method gives very nice cars quickly.

@deQuincey, the orange cls has many, many aspects that were funny for me to see. Suprisingly many at 300k.
