I bought my 2002 on 5/31/1972. 112K miles. Still in my garage with many spare parts including a NOS dash, front & rear clips, Clardy A/C new in box.
I always wanted the E9, and in the 1990's I could not justify spending $30K to have a nice $10K 2002.
Times have changed, however.

Cool story.
I dig those fender mounted sideview mirrors. Very reminiscent of classic 50's and 60's race cars I see at Laguna Seca Historics every year...

The Oval Talbot 333 mirrors were bought in Germany. I was trying to copy the looks of a 2000CS.
Very cool. Love the vintage Pioneer cassette deck.
