Opening stuck electric sunroof on my 1973 E9

My 1972 E9 sunroof electric motor is not working and would like to open it, in the manual it says that there is an emergency tool that will do the job. " remove the screw located on the motor along with the washers and insert the special tool that comes in the tool kit (which I don't have).
I was told by someone to use an allen key, but none of the sizes fit the hole.
Can anyone help and tell me how to open the sunroof......:(
 
Hello Ocra, there is a spot to insert an allen wrench you will have to find the correct size. There is also (on my 74) a slotted screw that, if you turn it, will open the roof. you may also want to tap-gently the rear of the sunroof occasionally as you roll it open as it may be stuck where it is supposed to drop down. Let me know how it goes- I may have an extra motor if yours is shot-

Good to know. When I got my coupe there was a piece of tape over the sunroof switch that says "NO!". I've been obedient up to this point. But it's sure to happen :p
