Orientation of temp and air switches behind the center console plate

So, putting the new vintage radio in, for that very cramped space behind the grille plate what is the orientation on the temp switch on top of the air switch? See pic

PUT IT TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT AND YOU NEED A SPACER SO IT DOESNT HIT THE GRILLE
YOUR OK AS YOU HAVE THE LONG MOUNTING SHAFT

Thanks, I have the metal spacer, and will try that as I can't see any other way. Getting the side consoles snug will be another challenge. But the Blaupunkt Frankfurt looks great.
