You might be right, the beading on the passenger seat is quite wavy.Perhaps front seats were recovered with perforated vinyl in the centers?
My 2002ti also came from Zambia in LHD... Not sure what the deal was then, maybe just after independence the switched to LHD for a bit? Don't know, but in Africa anything goes, mostly.Absolutely in amazing condition, seems everything’s there except the headlight covers. Odd that a new car delivered to Zambia wasn't RHD.
Fetched my boys from school today in the CS. No seatbelts! Similar to being naked... It was still awesome, and they loved it.
Thank you. According to BMW Archive: "The BMW 2800 CS VIN 2205653 was manufactured on October 23rd, 1970 and delivered on December 08th, 1970 to the BMW importer Canberra Motors in Kitwe, Zambia. The original colour was Sahara, paint code 006."Looks beautiful! Unique color that's for sure.
What year was it made?
Mine was made in February 1970. My seats are the older style w/the recliner lever down low.
Great buy! Check under the back seats for rear seat belts. My 2800 came to me because the Senior owner refused to wear seat belts when they were mandated. She had hidden the rears under the seats. Any sign of retractors under the rear armrests?Great looking car in what appears to have been well-loved condition.
We have a renown seat belt specialist on board, surely members could point you in the direction of BlueDevil? He can advise and hook you up, pun intended.
