Original 3.0CSL brochure on ebay sold for $$$$

CSL brochure

$355 is a really high price, which one was in auction?
But an $11 bid is beyond optimism.
I have a couple of doubles in my brochure collection, and they are for sale: one is the very first CSL brochure, the other is the second one with carbs and injection datas. Both in german and quite rare.
Pm if interested.

this one was in English a 3 page double sided CSL brochure its description as follows:

This is a very rare brochure for the BMW 3.0 CSL sports-coupe.

Dimensions are ~9" x ~ 12" in color.

Printed by BMW in Germany in 1972, with order # 01 81 979141.

This is a very sought after and rare brochure for the E9 3.0 CSL.

Being a 40 year old piece of literature, this is not in mint condition, so I would consider this a 9/10 piece considering the age.

It has been stored out of humity and remains unmarked in a flat cardboard envelope.

As you can see from the photos this brochure folds out to reveal a 3-page photo with comments regarding the CSL, with other shots of the interior and notable shots of the unique elements of the exterior. The back back contains the full specifications of the classic (and ever more collectable) BMW 3.0 CSL.

I didnt expect to get it for $11, but you never know :-o

Hang on to them Lorenzo! Those and a couple of red handled screw drivers and you can retire! :D

Would be a very sad retirement at just 90 euros each brochure!!!

Thanks!

Lorenzo- received as described, great resources and thanks for making them available here first...

BMW CSL brochures

Hi Richard,
glad You like them.
I've been collecting Porsche automobilia for a long time. Porsche vintage automobilia offers a unique world for collectors with a huge amount of products from 1950 to late 80's ( models, brochures, posters, calendars, advertising and promotional products, coins, postcards etc.).
There are some specific Porsche collectors swap meet like the L.A. Lit & Toy show this weekend or the Straehle swap in Schorndorf near Stuttgart in November.
I started some years ago to collect also BMW automobilia finding very nice items, even if the world of collectors is much more restricted.
CSL related automobilia is becoming rare and appreciated, as the real car.

Yes- the Porsche crowd is way ahead when it comes to collecting... to the point of obsession! But that obsession creates a wealth of knowledge for everyone to tap into. There's no substitute for seeing the original factory literature and documents.

Thanks again- Richard
