If any of you are ever in the Denver, CO USA area, try and go to the Shelby Museum in one of the nearby cities Boulder, CO. I have owned a real GT350 for 26 years, and drove my car there about 80mi one way. (and yes...the same way that some of you know the ins and outs of a CSL, there are also those that know the ins and outs of Shelbys! I don't mess around with either of these guys!) :)

www.shelbyamericancollection.org

Two very unassuming buildings, and a couple of guys that work there that are like walking encyclopedias. Only open a few hours on Saturdays. I estimate $200M worth of cars in these buildings.

What I always love are how rough the castings are, and the crude test equipment that were used in the 60's; such as Toledo scale to weigh pistons!! ;)
I know that many of you are real gearheads, so I hope that you enjoy the photos.

Oh man
I’m definitely on the wrong side of the Atlantic Ocean.
Thanks for showing us all the photos.
They are all really really cool .

There is another Shelby Cobra museum worth visiting:

The owner is involved with "Continuation" Cobra production (CSX 4xxx VIN numbers I believe). He has something like 19 cars in production..

This museum has a lot of material from Shelby's two shops in Southern California.. the airport shop and the venice beach shop (located & still in existence behind Bartel's Harley Davidson on Lincoln.) Artifacts include the original shop orange tool chest seen at Le Mans, scales, the dyno, and exhibits which explain the difference between 289 and 429 frames.
