Hi There,

Finally time to do the sills on my car and was wondering what the situation is with good fitting repair panels.

A local BMW dealer is quoting me $1200NZD ea (if they're available) but online at Walloth u. Nesch they look to be 150Euros each - although I'm not sure if it's the right part: A 51 13 1 810 551

I'm assuming the dealer ones will fit better but has anyone had experience with body panels from Walloth u. Nesch?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Ben

the panels from w&n are ok
regards

Thanks for that.

Just to clarify, does that mean better than other places but not as good as BMW or two thumbs up for W&N?

PS

Where are you in NZ?

you can never live two lifes, so i can tell what the w&n parts were, but not compare them with bmw

w&n are good parts, i have always found their parts very good in quality and price (even considering the transport expenses)

but, to tell you the truth i am finding that bmw is compiting with w&n in price, and today i found some parts better choice in bmw than in w&n (provided bmw is not charging you the transport)

to summarize as far as i am concerned w&n and bmw are almost equivalent

by the way, i found that both offer you the same nasty BREMI electrical parts instead of BOSCH or BERU, (specifically the ignition coil, and the caps for the spark cables), very bad quality !

Where are you in NZ?

Thanks for that mate, I'm in Auckland - where are you?

Also, have you restored one of these - I'm green as!

mmmm, not sure BMW NZ has got that memo - $2,400 from BMW as opposed to 300 Euros from W&N for those sill panels.

wow !

bmw here will ask exactly the same price as w&n for those parts, one friend of mine in my city has also an e9, and he bought them from bmw, and the price was even cheaper, because he did not have to pay the transport

i see, bmw has to bring the parts to the "other" side of the world ! :)

Well I'm going to go in and see the BMW parts guy incase his price was for all 3 panels as I asked for a price over the phone - pretty sure we were talking about the same part though and the W&N price didn't include shipping.

Thanks heaps for all the replies.

Walloth u. Nesch

I bought a set of rocker panels from Walloth u. Nesch and found the quality and price to be
quite good.

Delivery to New England (Boston, USA) was pretty quick and I was impressed by the "fit and finish" of the panels.

To be completely forthright, my lower rocker panel areas were both in such state of disrepair that any panel would have fit, so I'm not sure the "fit" part was of good quality.

Nice one - yes, found those sill part numbers in the end (7, 8, 9).

Thanks guys - very helpful

Hi Ben

I'm in West Auckland, and have been restoring my coupe now for about the last 4 years
It's now all painted and I'm very slowly putting it back together, should probably be drivable in the new year I would think

Give me a call if you want to chat, my work number is 828 9984, I've probably done a lot of what your now doing (rust removal wise) I may be able to help

Steve

Thanks mate, will definitely take you up on that offer if that's OK.

Would love to see your car as well - I'm just about to start so would be keen to hear any advice you might have.

Cheers

Ben

Separately. They get assembled/welded one piece at a time. The inner piece #9 is the side wall to the floor (where the carpet goes up to the door sill).
