Overheating. Thinking of adding AC?

Hello, I have it down to the radiator. It's a 1975 Euro CS....no AC. Since I might be replacing and upgrading wondering if anyone has advice? Saw some $2800 kits. That's out of my range. Would rather drive in fall anyways. Thanks
 
I'm afraid to tally my total for the AC conversion in my 69. The problem was not the compressor or the evaporator, it's all of the switches, new side panels, side vent covers, etc. which are impossible to find and when you do, don't work half the time. I live in South Carolina where AC is needed 9 months out of the year so it was a must. That being said, I have yet to even drive it but hope to be back on the road in a few weeks.
 
There are a number of A/C installation threads around here, try searching. Mine probably cost $2500-3000 by the time it was done but that included a lot of shop labor to install it all (I didn't have the time). If you do it yourself you could probably cut that in half.

You might want to look for a "tropical" radiator. I think these were available with an extra core (?) for A/C or Middle East cars.

Never heard of a "kit" for our cars. Do you have a link?
 
...and read Rob Siegel's "Confessions of a Hack Mechanic." Great section on AC installation/resurrection with his E9.
