Paint color underside of car

Hello, what color was the underside of the E9's when they came of the assembly line ? Also, were the inner wheel wells painted grey or body color ? Was the body-schutz undercoating a factory or a dealer option ?

I think the inner wheel wells are body color based on my car. From my specimen there are hidden cabin areas that show white instead of body color.

BTW, is it schutz? I think DP defined that as schmutz.
 
Thanks Arde and Chris - that's what I am finding in the exploration stage and when pressure cleaning the underside and removing the very thin layer of undercoating. The entire car was painted a very light beige / grey which was over sprayed with body color inside the wheel wells. Luckily, I have found only very little surface rust so far and nothing that can not been treated locally. Not the slightest indication of previous rust repair or body work whatsoever.
