Paint color

Sven...

That's precisely what I needed ... My project may very well begin by purchasing a shell/chassis AND a parts car for the interior and trim bits.
The difficulty being that the original color of that VIN being important for collector purposes. Finding such a body properly tagged means my choice of color needs to be flexible...or I need to be extremely lucky. My understanding is that even if the re-color is done well it still might hurt it's resale value or collectible status significantly?

There seem to be four or five of the more 'interesting' colors such as Colorado, Inka, Granada Red and a few of the greens that one sees less
frequently and therefore make them stand out individually. All but one of my BMW's has been blue and unless this one is Atlantik I am really ready for nice change. This is why I am paying such close attention to this particular detail at the start of my project.

Then again there's always white like my e24!

Thanks Sven for posting this link and I'll keep in touch as I often get up to Portland, OR which appears to be close to your location.

Cheers!

Yeah, I am a bit torn about original VIN color versus another. Mine is stripped down to the shell and was originally Polaris (which I like). However, the Colorado color is seriously tempting me. I think it would look ok with the dark blue seats (that are typical with the Polaris exterior).

I think that unless you will be 100% stock with everything on the car, then a change in color should not matter - especially if you are painting all areas with the new color. My 2¢.

I tend to agree....

Go Colorado...

Seeking competent BMW Coupe color 'expert' and pictures of e9Coupes in both Verona Red and especially Granada Red which appears to have been only a holdover 2002 color, on the 2800CS only and never used on the 3.0.

Here is Verona right after Dave Crawford's detailing clinic so you see the real color come out:

kunstharz= synthetic resin and lack = paint, so it translates to syntethic resin based paint.
It does not say anything about the actual color, just what type of paint they used.
