I recently purchased a 1971 2800 CS. The body and current paint are in good shape but the color is not an original BMW color. I would like to have it painted the correct silver for that year. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good paint shop in the DC area who could do a good job for a relatively reasonable price?
I am not sure if they do paint/body, but BMW Excluservice (Rockville, MD) was the repair shop I went to when I lived in DC. Talk to Lothar, he knows/loves old BMWs and could point you in the right direction if he doesn't do this service himself.
talk to Lothar ... he is a really nice guy and has some gorgeous vintage BMWs. i would follow his advice without hesitation as he knows what he is doing ... he won the 2009 bmwcca oktoberfest concours with his 328.
