So I have a 72 cs and I was driving to work today and when I got off the freeway I could smell my brakes burning, so I got out of the car and the rear driver side wheel was so hot that you could not even touch it. All the rest of the wheels were not hot at all. So I made sure that the parking brake was not on, it wasnt. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.

Most likely a stuck caliper or a faulty/broken e-brake mechanism. Take off the wheel and look. :D

...or a swollen brake line that won't allow the pressure to release.

If the piston releases after it sits and the heat dissipates, I'd suspect the line. If the lines are old, not a bad idea to plan on replacing anyway, and cheaper to try this first rather than replacing the caliper.

While your at it, change the wheel bearing. The overheated brake will have cooked the bearing grease out. The bearing will fail soon after, even if you regrease now. Been there, had that problem...
