Parts and Service CDs on eBay

They are the TIS disks. They are of marginal utility unless you have the GT1 or other machine to go with it. If you are going to try to use those, you may as well cut out the middle man and just torrent thewm yourself, as they are all pirated copies of older versions of the software. For the older cars (E34 on down) the paper manuals are far superior. There are pdf versions of many of the manuals floating around, and I don't mean the Bently ones.

Sure do wish someone could tell me how to ocme up with those PDF versions. As a lon-time Volvo restorer, things like this sure seem much more readily available

I am afraid, however, that there is no such beast that I have ever found for the E9. There is the Autobooks manual in our tech section as a pdf, though. That's why I ponied-up for the blue books. However, some other good manuals to have are:
1. The Haynes BMW Sedans 2500, 2800, 3.0 and Bavaria ISBN:0856963488
2. Motorbooks international BMW Shop Manual Carbeurated 2500, 2800, 3.0, Bavaria ISBN: 087938347X

The factory blue books are about 1000 pages, and I have never seen a pdf of them anywhere. There are pdf versions of the factory manuals for such cars as the E23, E24, E30, E28, and E34.

Those two manuals I listed are about 10-20$. They both provide excellent diagrams and additional information not typically found in the blue books. [/i]
