My pedal box somehow not fitting the car. Mechanic told me that this may not be an E9 part.

There is also a suspicion that my firewall is modified.

Does this look like an E9 pedal box ?

Something looks off to be honest. The part that sticks out into the engine compartment has to be a closed 'tube' as far as I know. Yours is open on the bottom.

Indeed, I looked at it also, thought the same about the tube (my automatic car surely has a closed tube, so does the 5 manual version I have stored as well) , but wasn't sure so I didn't post it. Makes two of us now.

Do a Google search and you'll be all the wiser.

What exactly doesn't fit?

As for me your e9 steering column look correct, there was two types of non-regulated steering columns in e9 - the difference as was mentioned above tube vs. open one & angle. But due to the same dimensions, bolt pattern etc. - both should fit.
You can see on my photo that firewall mount/interior part on both is identiacal; engine compartment part tube/open tube hold brake booster & coolant expansion tank, so it's not so critical.

If it was e3 vs e9 then yes the columns are different, but in that case i would say that something is wrong with your firewall.

The booster mount side changed when boosters changed from pancake style to thicker style, open vs. closed tube.

You are right about the firewall. Today I found out transmission tunnel was widened by previous owner to put a V8 in it. I will get transmission tunnel cut, arrange to make the original transmission tunnel and get the fire wall in original condition. This news hit me a big time but will get true.

Now I just need to make sure my pedal box is original E9 not E3 or something else.

do you have your old pedal mount?

From your automatic?

Just change the pedals if so
No I don't have any other pedal box. I know that car was automatic sometime of its life.

Car came without parts in it. Parts I have were given to me by the previous owner later on. Turns out... some of them are E3 parts or even Chevrolet parts.

Hi!

I am looking for a left hand drive E9 pedal box for our CSL build! Does anyone have one I could make an offer on or have leads on one?

Thank you all!

Adam
