Pertronix for 2800 CS

Seen several threads regarding conversion of 2800 CS to Pertronix. I am assuming all is OK, but noted no mention in their catalogue for application to the 2800.

Also, should you go with the originial or the Ignitor II? Should you also spring for a new coil at the same time?

Identify if you have a large case vs small case distributor because the pertronix is different.
I have ignitor 1 on mine and using standard blue coil. I messed things up big time when I used there black coil....and I am afraid to try it again.

I am sure Carl Nelson knows which one to use but it must be an Ignitor I but Abe is right, the distributors changed.

No personal experience, do you want to hang a big box in the engine bay? The Pertonix is subtle with no external parts and works well.
