I am putting on a petri wheel, can anyone tell me does access to the nut come from removing the 6 screws on the hub or popping the horn button out somehow? I don't want to screw it up with the wrong technique, thanks.

pop the button, but from the backside...turn the wheel over, support the hand ring leaving the center button free/open, push/pop from where the stud will enter the wheel.

careful for the horn wire

Thanks for this tip, worked like a charm.

Your welcome.
BTW, some horn buttons have, on the backside, a slot that you could use to lift/pop (w/screwdriver...) from the front. Look to see if you have that type and determine where it is from the front. Once it's back on, you will have less change of marring the button when removing it.

No slot, but perhaps a couple thin, 1" wide plastic paint scrapers gently inserted underneath would be able to lift it up enough to get it off in the future.
