Gang,

Imran, a fellow E30 owner from the bay area who is on temp assignment to the Mercedes factory in Sindelfingen and I drove up to the ring from Stuttgart on Sat morning. We stopped by Ramstein Air Base where they had a pik-a-part junkyard with a dozen Euro spec E30's that we pulled some parts off of. Then from there to the Mosel valley for a wine run on our way to the ring. Once we were at the ring, we walked around the numerous parking lots, various car corrals, etc... We never did find the Ferrari, Porsche or MB car corral. Imran's camera battery expired before we got to the BMW E3's. You'll see a pik of me with my Bay Area 02 Swap & Show T shirt (and a shit eating grin) standing next to a classic Alfa. There were no factory turbo's in sight at the ring, I saw at least 30 E9 coupes there and eight E3's.

What the pics don't show is the incredible sound of the race cars in the background. An incredible day to say the least, everyone needs to make a pilgramage to the Nurburgring Historcs at least once in thier life.

Oldtimers GP is one of my favorite events. G-man, you must have arrived after 2pm as my Coupe is missing from the lineup. I couldn't find the Porsche or Ferrari areas either. Thanks for the photo link.
