Pistons - Out of stock everywhere?

Really happy to join the forum!

Apologies if this is common knowledge, but i'm trying to rebuild my 2800cs which needs 6 new pistons - i believe 86.45mm piano tops.

I can't find pistons or piston rings for sale anywhere over the past month, everywhere seems to be out of stock. There's a few posts saying they're discontinued from a few years ago - has anything changed in that time, and are there any common alternatives if i rebore etc?

I really don't want to swap out the original engine but if i can't get pistons i'm going to run out of options unless i get custom pistons made which seems insane for the value of the car...

Indeed, new, std pistons are out of stock. Common is to get custom pistons made. Expect around 1500-3000 USD/Euro for a set depending on specs

Instead of installing custom pistons you might insert cylinder sleeves and take standard, good used original pistons.
