Is there a consensus about what kind of spark plugs to run on your coupe? I'm going to be running a pretty hot engine once the megasquirt is put in. I had a set of NGK Iridiums but I've been told those aren't good to use.
I'm looking for the what (to use) and the why if anyone can help here. Thanks in advance

Very interested to hear on this also. I would think much would depend on what kind of upgrade you'd incorporate as new coil and it's output.

Here's a cut and paste from previous discussion.

I have an aftermarket EFI engine management and ignition system with crank triggered, direct fire coil pack that replace both OEM distributor and coil and use Bosch Platinum +2 plugs after trying the WR9LS - just seems to run better. If you are stock OEM carb or CSi I would recommend the conventional single long neck like the WR9LS.

FWIW, there has been a fair amount of discussion regarding plugs here.

I recommend either NGK BP6ES (which are equivalent to the old Bosch W7DC plugs) or if you want a slightly hotter plug NGK BP5ES (which is equivalent to the old Bosch W8DC plugs). With NGK the lower number plugs are hotter whereas with Bosch it's the opposite where the higher numbered plugs are hotter. I run NGK BP5ES in my '74 3.0 csi with the stock fuel injection and also run those same plugs in both of my 2002tiis ('73 & '74). Neither of these plugs have built in resistors and I run them with the stock wires that have the Beru resistor boots at end.
