power sunroof to manual conversion

Can the a power sunroof be converted to a manual mechanism? The motor is located under the roof lining in the back.

I realize I would need to change the front part of the lining.

If so, does anyone have the mechanism willing to sell?

I cannot offer any info on the conversion feasibility, but would love to do the same on mine, which I believe has a broken cable.

Why are you converting? I have a manual and I'd love to have a power roof.

Are they notoriously unreliable and require ripping out the headliner to service?

Andre, I have a few sunroof bits and pieces lying around including the "Golde" manual crank in working order (not seized). The chrome is a bit pitted. I think that I may have the recessed cup which houses the parked crank arm somewhere. I also have a motor and gearbox drive if someone wishes to reverse the process. I suspect, though, that the drive mechanism is the least of your problems when it comes to undertaking this conversion. Email me if interested [email protected]
