I am almost at the point of having to select color and paint brand. The shop where the car is at uses the PPG paints (probably the Deltron 2000). So, I will most likely go with the PPG and not Glasurit. Has anyone noticed any issues with PPG being able to correctly match the BMW color codes? In my case - 060 Polaris neu metallic (or very remotely 02 Colorado).

Thanks,

Malaga is a very hard color to match and I used PPG, or rather Peter did. He had samples that had been cut from cars and that is where we started. The first batch was too purple so the shop mixed in some other pigments, we shot a small sample and it came out perfect. Any good paint/body shop can fine tune the formula, I don't think any brand of paint straight from the can can claim to be truly original.

Im painting my car ceylon gold 008 with ppg paint and the body shop showed me about 5 sample color chips form ppg. They all were very close to the original paint color.

Also I found this website today that will tell you the correct paint code in PPG paint if you punch in your bmw factory paint code.

Good luck on your paint search...
