problem with hood opening

My hood brace was destroyed by an auto repair shop, so I purchased a hood expanding pole.

Some e9 members have assembled an elegant sliding expanded unit on both sides, so hopefully one of them will reply with the parts and sources needed, as I'd like to do the same.

Hello Remydedez,
either your workshop assembled this spring mechanism in the wrong way or something is broken.
You will have to disassemble the brace and check the spring rods and the parts holding the brace.
I remember seeing a thread here dealing with the mounting of the brace.
Anyhow, I will have to do this job on my car next week, I will take some photos of the installation and the procedure.
