This subject has come up recently--and from time to time over the years--with some checking around found the following from a reliable source--a wholesale parts firm specializing in German parts here in Orange County is Royze, Inc. I volunteered this posting for the owner whom I have known well for several years--if I were still carbed with Zeniths would certainly go with him.
Owner of Royze, Inc. is a BMW afficianado whose first exeriences with our roundel badged "whispering bombs" goes back to the mid-sixties when they were known as such--he picked up new BMW's at the Port of Long Beach--then the West Coast Port of Entry for all BMW's--and drove them to one of the earliest dealers located in Anaheim--has since owned several--two now and a noted collector/authority of interesting classics.
Just learned today Royze can deliver professionally re-built Zenith INAT carbs as were mounted on E-3 and E-9 M-30's of the era--using your solid ones as the core--3 day indicated turn around time + shipping time. Re-builds include truing of mounting surfaces and new bushings for the carb throttle shafts that go out of round, and renewed throughout for $295 each+shipping. Sounds like a good deal to me considering the alternatives.
