The first picture is Bill Spornitz' gorgeous E9. The B12 is @BMW Pete 's. I'll need help with the others.

A great day!

Hi Dick

Third picture is Sven Larsen who many of us know here

Forth - white CSL is owned by Manfred the owner of BMW NW, he bought from me many years ago, when I was upgrading my LHD CSL, it is a CSL, but not a BAT.

5th is a real Batmobile owned by Malcolm - I think his surname is Klug, but please forgive me if I have misremembered from years ago. He has had that car for about 10 -12 years, doesn't take it out very often, so was nice to see it out and about.

6th is mine as mentioned and next to it is the red Z1 I owned for over 20 years. Only let it go when I found the Magic Violet press car in Switzerland, which I of course still have.

7th is Manfred again - BMW NW and his I8

8th the 507 is Corry McFarland- I believe in his family from new.

Sorry I missed the event.... Would have been nice to do - but recovering from that five letter affliction was on the agenda for the weekend.
Plus - My Coupe is still not with me and the E23 is 7' up in the air above the Mustang (on a 4 post lift).
Taking the E38 just isn't favored my be (usually) for a club event. But regardless of what car I would take - wanted to take it easy during the weekend to get in shape for work on Monday. Sounds and looks like a great time was had by all who did go. Looking forward to getting back in the swing of things with the Coupe next season.

@BMW Pete -How does that B12 drive? Having recently driven an 850CI (auto). I would imagine quite a bit sportier.

I haven't really tested it to any limits, I owned both 850s and 840s when I still lived in the UK and there were plenty of twisty roads to test the car and its feel, sadly with only one being a stick shift CSI. I did have a few back roads I liked putting most cars I owned through their paces and the 8s were amazing, just totally solid on the bends .

I am a little older now, so high speed cornering is not often on the agenda - that said, I find it would probably react much the same as a Euro CSI, which of course is a very different car to the 225 CSI's delivered to the US.

You can definitely feel their weight as they are heavy cars, not as tactile and instant feedback as our E9s, if you think how heavy the E24 is as compared to our E9s, the 8 series (to me) feels like it increased that much again in weight and ability as a solid GT cruiser.

It's been 20 years since I drove the CSi, so I would have to remind myself of that feel to be able to judge again.

@BMW Pete - Thanks for the response, Pete. Yes, I noticed the weight right away and though I didn't push it at all, the thing that stood out to me was the smoothness of the engine and the linear power delivery. There was literally zero vibration at idle. Hard to tell if the car was even running.

Geez Dick, not a single closeup of your gorgeous E3. You are too humble. The Polaris E9 next to my Nacht Blau belongs to Irving K. It is a super low mile, completely rust free car that is all original with the exception of one re-spray. This was a smaller than usual turnout of E9/E3 cars as there are upwards of 25 in the area. We were vastly outnumbered by 2002s. We need to do better next time folks ;)
