Well finally got started on my E9 Project and the questions are going to start...Will also add pictures soon.

My introduction to BMWs can be found here:

The e9 I purchased can be found here

Briefly a disassembled 1974 originally 3.0 CSA Fjord exterior with red interior and sunroof. Rust primarily limited to spare tire wheel well and some in driver's floor pan.

It is in the registry (with no information yet)

The plan:
Taiga exterior early chrome bumpers with a front spoiler, rear window hoop, rear spoiler, and bbs gold wheels.
Tan interior would like to put scheel seats with a wooden nardi streering wheel.
3.5 engine with existing 5 speed transmission and limited slip differential.

Ultimately I want to make it a daily driver quality car and use it! Quality of the restoration may be leaning a little to weekend caliber but will try to keep cost down. I hope to make the exterior and interior look period correct, although not original by any means, with an updated drive train. Will be stripping body to bare metal to make sure we find and repair all rust.

The car was found by a friend who restores Porsche. The car was being sold by his friend who works exclusively on BMWs and had one too many projects.... Unfortunately, we were expecting to start on the body in December/January and then the body shop building was sold and he is scrambling to organize a move and cannot take on more projects until he moves and settles in.

Early this month, the car went to a different body shop who will do the body work. It is going to be stripped to bare metal, repaired and painted. The entire undercarriage will be stripped and coated.

At this point the front and rear suspension, transmission etc have been removed and all new bushing are being installed. The engine is also being rebuilt, port and polished.

Will post questions as they come up. And yes pictures.
