Any interest in adding a section for regional groups, like you see on other forums. I never had them in the past because they don't get used much, but sometimes it's a nice way to organize gatherings.

Not needed in my opinion, I love seeing posts from everywhere.
I concur. I've felt excluded - that I missed some relevant info - on other forums because I was in the wrong location. One of the great things imo about this forum is how international and inclusive it is. Heck, you even let me participate. :p (which I greatly appreciate)

Yeah, sometimes there's relevant info in the local chatter but my experience has been mostly talk about where and when to get together, not so much about technical or general information talk. If we did it they would be additional forums so using the New Posts filter would show them all anyway.

This topic was discussed in the past and was shot down but I like to bring it back up from time to time just to get a feel for interest...

Perhaps other flyover folks would disagree, but I don't mind living vicariously through the Coupefornia or other region folks. There doesn't seem to be an abundance of that, anyway. To me, it would be disappointing if more content got siloed (sp?) into smaller regional groups.

its not needed in Atlanta - M5bb has that covered with BMW Classics of Georgia - on faceplant.
I don't think it's needed. I like seeing the posts from all over. After all if we need to we can just get someones phone number and text and call or send videos and all the stuff.

Not enough e9's in my area to make it worth it, I've got them all on speed dial and there's usually one of them sharing my garage for maintenance!

I always feel honoured when I'm invited for coffee on the other end of the world.

I dont mind. I would worry missing out on some coupeporn or trivia, leading to excessive regional forum hopping for which no remedy has been found in my case...

+1 for global.

I haven't seen another CS driving on Oahu, Kauai, Maui or Hawaii for like ever. Really. I think there was one on Maui but we've not met. I once saw a 2000C in Hilo but that was 15 years ago. I know several (four?) coupes around here got repatriated to the vaterland or the mainland, might as well be the same.

If another group starts here I may be the sole and only member. It's good to be king, superintendent, labor foreman and dishwasher at the same time.

I'm in the Hudson Valley and other than photos from the Saratoga car events, I haven't seen another E9 locally in many years. They must be out there somewhere. Nor have any of my local BMW dealers seen one recently (I'm on my 8th BMW a 2018 530e), at least according the the various car salesmen, service and parts guys. One of the dealers has a giant photo of a Fjord coupe in its showroom but the salespeople barely knew what it was. It's also rare to see any 2002s. I guess none of this is too surprising given the weather in the NE US. I don't think regional subforums would yield much interest.

Veering off topic... What’s funny is there was another E9 2 blocks down my street, and folks directly behind me have a family member with one. Some guy north of me about 10 miles owns multiple E9s , and there’s an elite vintage racer BAT that gets serviced about a mile from me. One more E9 within 10 miles. Sounds kind of elitist, but I’m in freaking Oklahoma and not in an uber upscale area.
