I've started replacing my stock A/C system. About 20 years ago, I replaced my 3.0L engine with a 3.5L engine from a 1987 535i. That engine had a large Bosch A/C compressor and a bracket to fit it. I've attached pictures of the bracket and the side of the engine block where it mounts.
I've purchased a Sanden 508 compressor which is much smaller. Does anyone know if the mounting points on the engine block for an A/C bracket for the 3.0L and 3.5L engine are in the same location? My supplier has a bracket that fits the 3.0L engine but doesn't know if it will fit the 3.5L.
