Far from “rust free.”
 
Bespoke ( fancy word to journalist like to use) holes in chassis for lighter weight.

These holes will save lots of time in the build process of keeping the car’s weight in check.

Seriously, working to fix the compromised floor pan is going to be expensive.

Rear trailing arm is next for painting.
Backing plate and parking brake removed and sent to the trash.
 
Looking good! So no tube frame?
Not sure just yet, one guy sees too much rust, another says workable ( but he is removed from the business of welding race cars.)

Time (and $$$ ) will tell. Stock BMW components will be less expensive. ( Right?)
