radiator hose options

Just spent the past few days patching and sealing my driveway, so what a better time for my coupe to decide to start leaking coolant, all over the minty fresh pavement.

I'm guessing one of the hoses let go and if I'm gonna replace one I may as well do them all. My brief search has turned up "new and improved" silicone hose sets that seem to come at a good price.

Any reasons why I should NOT consider them and stick with old fashioned rubber?

Any other recommended sources and sage advice would be highly appreciated.

if you use silicone hoses, make sure to use the correct hose clamps. the old style clamps will likely ruin the silicone hoses.
