interesting interior treatment. door arm rest 'delete' is interesting.

curious, where did you get the stats on the motor?

engine detail

shanon,
if you click on the link to the right of the pictures that says 'handbook 280: 1972 bmw...
you will see a short write-up with a few of the details.

chris,
not to my taste either, but you have to admire the attention to detail.

Someone (Griot?) had entirely too much money, and not quite enough taste. I was OK with the "batmobile" exterior, and it's certainly sanitary underhood, but when I got to the interior shots, yuk!

Yea, those e9 armrests are way heavy - I'll bet deleting them knocked 2 seconds off his 0 to 60 time.

Rumor has it that is the same car as the polaris coupe on our home page. A former member(maybe he's still here) of our forum was the previous owner, Scott something. He lives/lived in the Portland area and told me the whole story when he bought some BBS RS rims from me. That was probably five years ago.

I don't think it's Richard Griot's car, he picks different cools cars for the cover of his quarterly catalog.

When you look at the original bat cars the interior styling makes perfect sense to me :lol:. ~ John Buchtenkirch

Not Richard Griot's car. I believe the car was built for a local racer/team owner who ran Porsche 962s back in the IMSA days. I think most of the work was done by an area vintage race prep shop and obviously to suit the owners personal taste. I've seen the car in person and although you might not agree with the style choices, the quality of the work is impeccable.

heh heh

looks like he has to prop up his rear hood with a stick. I used to do that with my E3 2500 and won the "Dirty Car" contest, just after I had washed it and all that. Maybe what got me there was that all the stuff for a hydraulic steering changeover was rattling around the trunk. The 2500 had manual steering and was quite heavy.

I see too that his front strut brace has to be removed to get window washer bottle out. That would never work with me.
