Rear Bumpers SS or the real pieces?

Friends,

I am having a go around with an insurance company on replacing the rear bumper on a 1972 CS Coupe.
They want me to use these SS copies, We haven't used these before, but have tried the SS 2002 version, which required additional labor time to install.

These on Ebay:

Be aware- my last Viet bumper arrived twisted and with the bracket broken…

A month later I’m straightening it and off to the welder and polisher.
The company turned their problem into my problem.
Effectively doubling my cost….

Customer service in Viet Nam is not a feature…..

I may have a rear bumper for you…

Mario based on the quality of work you guys do I would get originals re done.

I bought a set and was not happy, the mounting tabs needed to be cut and rewelded an inch on one side, they now have adjustable brackets but they do need work to fit.

The extra labour and fiddling is not worth it, had I known, I'd have got my originals chromed

Mario, I used those bumpers a decade ago, when you helped convert mine 74 to the pre-73 configuration (best conversion work I’ve ever seen). The fit in the back required twisting/tweaking the bumpers, and still the fur is not perfect

Another problem for me is that stainless scratches more easily than a good Chrome job. Chrome is substantially harder ( Rockwell C).
