as to my experience in this mechanisms, there is a possibility that the regulator is not the culprit, but the rubber bushing that goes between the motor and the regulator, this has the white nylon gear fitted around
that rubber bushing has two ends made of plastic, those ends are the ones that fit in the metal axis of the motor and the regulator thanks to a cricle with a flat side
ok, then when the dirt and dry fat in the mechanism of the window makes more resistance, the flat side of the plastic element becomes circular, and so the motor axis spins inside the bushing element without trasnmitting any force
it is not a bushing in fact but a flexible rod, something like a clutch or a flexible transmission
if i were you, i would check it and start looking for a rubber bushing, probably NLA !
