Have a very nice heavy chrome rear panel with no extra holes.
Was prepping to cut fog light hole when it struck me that a trade might be better before I cut this one.
I’d rate it a 7.5 as it does show some patina in the chrome, but it’s really nice overall.
Hoping for an equal trade for same panel with foglite hole already factory cut.

Thanks!
Steve

Thanks.
Really just want to trade for the same thing but with the fog light hole already cut.
Throwing it out there before this one gets an irreversible hole cut in it.
I won’t cut this for several months just to let it marinate,,,
Thanks!

I too was avoiding the task but it went much better than expected. Assume you have the light and the other cut out in the trunk is already there? Leave space to grind it down, took me a few trips to the back of the car to get the fit just right even with first mounting and then using the factory cutout in the trunk to trace where I needed to go. I used a Dremel 3000 and it came out quite nice.

If somebody is looking for a panel I have one that is in good shape with some patina. Original BMW part. Seems to be stainless steel rather than aluminum. A magnet will not stick to it, so it's definitely not steel. Too heavy to be aluminum.

The chrome plated panels, which were on the earlier cars (not sure the exact date cutoff) are brass. I have one that I'd rate about a 9, and was initially planning on cutting the fog light hole, too. But my wife talked me out of it. We'll keep the car closer to its US delivery symmetry.

Thanks.. Not apprehensive about the trim at all, I just cut the hole in rear body panel (with help of Markos' template) just thought someone might be after this pristine solid panel and have one they'd part with that already has the hole.

Steve,

I have two panels with the fog hole if you need/want to use them to double-check your placement. I am keeping both since one has extra holes drilled in it.
