Looking for a link on how to replace the weatherstrip on the leading edge of the rear quarter windows found here. Soapy water and pull the gasket on? Roll the gasket into the rail? I remember a deQ thread but haven't found it yet (still looking).

Thanks

The weatherstrip is fixed in 2 ways, it is behind the chrome channel (directly on the glass), and the other end fits into a slot on the outer part of the chrome piece.

the word of caution is how you remove the chrome strip. i first detached the loose end of the weatherstrip (from the slot on the outer part of the chrome piece) - then gently remove the chrome piece ... word of caution is that it WILL bend easily. once removed the weatherstrip that wraps around the glass comes off easily.

reinstallation - i recommend new chrome and gaskets - whoever last installed the chrome strips may have hammered them in place (onto the end of the glass - over the gasket) which closes the slot for the end of the gasket. it is then really difficult to put the gasket in the slot.

i put the "u" shaped part of the gasket on the edge of the window - with a little weatherstrip adhesive, then slid the chrome piece on top of the gasket. then hooked the loose end of the gasket into the exposed slot and pushed it into place with a rubber mallet.

happy to help. i learned the hard way - hurt my fingers trying to press the new rubber into the old chrome. worked on it for 20 minutes and had sore hands. bought new chrome and each side was together in 5 minutes each.

good luck
scott
